Religious Education
At Knights Primary, Religious Education helps expand pupils’ knowledge about faiths and religions so that they can further understand the local and wider world around them and become increasingly confident when communicating their own ideas and beliefs. Pupils will learn core concepts in religion and beliefs, exploring the ways they have shaped our lives and our behaviour over time and continue to do at present. Through our curriculum, pupils will develop their understanding of faiths, moral issues and diversity within our society and develop the ability to make reasoned and informed judgements about religions. Pupils will have the opportunity to examine religious traditions as well as non-religious world views, broadening their horizons by understanding how their own beliefs and world views will help shape the future. The taught curriculum works alongside fundamental British values, providing pupils with a platform to discuss and confidently communicate their rights and responsibilities as empowered citizens and reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences.
